NBA FIT goes to Torres High School: Rock star welcome for Spoelstra (NBA CARES)

NBA Cares is the league's dedicated service program and outreach organization, offering community service projects that many of the league's stars have participated in since its inception.

Thursday (August 4. 2011) was a special day for the Torres High School student's (Tondo, Manila); never they imagined a top caliber coach of the NBA would step in there school...

Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra continued to bring NBA FIT to Metro Manila schools to preach the gospel of a healthy and active lifestyle to kids, teachers and families everywhere.

At Torres High School, the Department of Health through Dr. Irma Asuncion, head of its Health Promotions Board reaffirmed the DOH’s partnership with the National Basketball Association in promoting health and wellness to the greatest number possible.

My favorite part of the NBA Cares family is the Basketball Without Borders program, which spans the globe every year to teach basketball and life skills as well as build things like schools and houses.
