SM Cinema Launches the 1st Bigshot Film Festival

SM Cinema, in its continuing efforts to champion the advancement of film literacy in the country and to promote Philippine cinema as a vehicle for cultural identity, spearheaded project Bigshot – SM Cinema’s Search for Student Filmmakers. The project was conceptualized in 2010 after movie exhibitors including SM Cinema received a 10% reduction on amusement tax. The project was SM Cinema’s way of giving back to the film industry by means of supporting independent movies.

Bigshot, which garnered over 50 script-entries on the theme “Modern Day Heroism” from various schools nationwide, officially kicked off last December 2, 2010 with the announcement of the Top 15 student-finalists at The Podium. The said event was later followed by The Grand Announcement of the Top 3 Bigshots two weeks later on December 15, 2010 at Director’s Club and bagging the coveted top three spots are:Archie Dimaculangan of UP –Diliman for his entry “Balang Araw”, Bianca Catbagan and Jose Antonio De Rivera, both from UP – Diliman, for “Suntok sa Buwan” and Krizzie Syfu of DLSU for “Tahanan”.

SM Cinema in its support to advance film literacy in the country and promote Philippine cinema spearheaded this project with the support from The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

Living in Full Color with Nutrilite and Amway Philippines

Press Release

Amway Philippines promotes Nutrilite’s Living In Full Color this 2012
Nutrilite Trim Down Showdown! Weight Loss Challenge launched,
Enchong Dee presented as Nutrilite Brand Ambassador

As 2012 opens, Amway Philippines encourages Filipinos all over the country to live healthy by adding color to their diet. The group behind the renowned Nutrilite vitamin, mineral and dietary supplements and the prestigious Artistry lifestyle brand ushers in the new year with a huge day-long event where fun comes with fitness and choice joins camaraderie and a commitment to becoming fit and fresh: Living In Full Color, happening at the Market! Market! Activity Center in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Early birds that arrived by 10:00 in the morning were treated to having their car snickered by Amway at the Market! Market! parking lot. The Market! Market! Activity Center soon burst into life at exactly 11:00 in the morning with the simultaneous opening of the Living In Full Color program and booths. The booths scattered within the Activity Center housed various activities and were colored according to Nutrilite’s ongoing ColorUrLife campaign.

The Red Booth allowed those aspiring to be health conscious to learn more about their body mass indexes (BMIs), blood pressure and cholesterol levels as well as including at least five servings of fruits and vegetables in their daily healthy eating options. Those looking for fun trooped over to the Yellow Booth to play Wii Fitness Games and the arcade games Punchmaster and Dance Revolution. The Purple Trim Down Showdown Booth served as the registration hub for the Nutrilite Weight Loss Challenge. Participants enjoyed the Green Keepsakes Booth that offered free photo printouts the whole day. The White Playhouse functioned as the stage area where everyone was treated to exciting games and a chance to go out on a special date with celebrity swimmer and new Nutrilite Brand Ambassador Enchong Dee.

There were also product samples up for grabs as well as fun raffles and activities to join. The program included a high-energy Zumba dance workout, a Twister game that incorporated the colored food lifestyle, and a Veggie-Fruit Sumo game where food came to colorful life, proving that playing with your food can be good too. Singer Kyla wowed the crowd with her impressive R&B styling and her bright attitude towards health and fitness. Those who had just signed up to become Amway’s Independent Business Owners (IBO) had the chance to take part in the three-month Nutrilite Double X Challenge, where an iPad 2, an iPod touch and an iPod Nano are all up for grabs.

But there were definitely a few highlights in this year’s expo event program. One of them was the launch of the Nutrilite Trim Down Showdown! Weight Loss Challenge. Sign-ups, “before” pictures and weigh-ins were done at the nearby Purple Booth. It was exciting to see the resolution of the participants, who all vowed to return to Amway in better shape and health in the next three months that the Challenge would run.

The other highlight of the day was the presentation of Nutrilite’s newest brand ambassador — champion swimmer, Kapamilya Network star and multi-awarded actor Enchong Dee. The Green Booth allowed fans of the former Philippine National Swim Team athlete to have a free photograph with him through a photobooth. Event participants also had the chance to win a dinner date the same night with Enchong, but first they had to answer a set of interesting and amusing questions like “If you were a fruit, which fruit would you be and why?”

The day closed with a special raffle and confetti blast, but the quest towards a healthier and more colorful lifestyle has just begun. Through Nutrilite, Amway Philippines continues to advocate Living In Full Color all year round.

To know more about Nutrilite’s newest brand ambassador Enchong Dee and how you can get your daily dose of at least five servings of fruits and vegetables, visit www.colorurlife.com.ph or like us on facebook at www.facebook.com/NutriliteCOLORurLIFE. 2012 JR. NBA PRESENTED BY ALASKA PROGRAM RETURNS TO THE PHILIPPINES FOR FIFTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Jr NBA Coach Marty Conlon, Alaska's Fred Uytengsu Jr, NBA Asia's Ed Winkle and Carlo Singson

The Jr. NBA is the league’s international youth development program that promotes basketball participation, sportsmanship and teamwork, and an active lifestyle among children. In addition to the three new cities, the 2012 Philippines schedule will also include Metro Manila, where the Jr. NBA National Training Camp will take place.  The program is open to boys between 10 and 14 years old.

“We have a great partner in Alaska, which shares our dedication to youth sports development and has played a vital role in the growth of the Jr. NBA program,” said Carlo Singson, Director and Philippines Country Manager, NBA Asia. “With the involvement of all our partners, the Jr. NBA program continues to expand and touch the lives of more young players, coaches, educators, and parents.”

“Alaska is committed to developing talent at the youth level and we are pleased to return as presenting partner,” said Wilfred Steven Uytengsu, Jr., President and CEO, Alaska Milk Corporation. “The Jr. NBA is a great fit with Alaska’s mission to nurture talent and promote a healthy lifestyle through sports from a young age, and we look forward to another successful program this year.”

This year’s program will tip off with a coaching clinic in Manila on Jan. 14, and will then travel to Puerto Princesa in Palawan for a coaching clinic on Jan. 15 and a school clinic on Jan. 16.  From Palawan, the Jr. NBA will return to Central Luzon on Jan.18 for a school clinic and NBA Cares event in flood hit Pampanga. The Jr. NBA will also hold an NBA Cares activity on Jan. 19 in Cagayan de Oro, which was recently devastated by Typhoon Sendong, followed by a school clinic on Jan 20.

School clinics will continue during the months of February and March in Metro Manila in the lead up to the Regional Selection Camps which will be held in Puerto Princesa (Apr 10 – 11), Cagayan de Oro (Apr 14 – 15), Pampanga (Apr 17 – 18) and Manila (Apr 21 – 22). Upon completion of the Regional Selection Camps, the top 50 players from all over the country will be selected to participate in the three-day Jr. NBA National Training Camp to be held in early May in Manila.  As part of Alaska Milk’s support of the Jr. NBA, 10 of the 50 National Camp participants will be selected from this year’s Alaska Basketball Power Camp.  The program will culminate with the selection of the Jr. NBA All-Star Team providing the 10 best campers a unique NBA experience and the opportunity to play against a Jr. NBA team from another country.

Similar to last year, the 2012 Jr. NBA Coach of the Year presented by Alaska will be announced at the Jr. NBA National Training Camp, where the top 10 finalists for the award will be invited to participate as assistant instructors.  The award winner will be announced on the last day of the national training camp. Coaches interested in joining the search for Coach of the Year can log onto the Jr. NBA website for more details.

This year, Jr. NBA coach and former NBA player Martin“Marty” Conlon, who played for several NBA teams including the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics, will oversee the program along with local coaches selected by the NBA, as well as members of the Alaska Aces coaching staff. The coaches will assist in teaching the NBA skill stations as well as communicating the importance of the Jr. NBA core values of sportsmanship, teamwork, a positive attitude, and respect (S.T.A.R.).  An NBA legend will participate in the national training camp and community outreach programs through NBA Cares.

The Jr. NBA program, together with its partners, will reinforce key values such as the importance of sports participation for parents and children, and will educate children, parents and coaches on children’s health and nutritional requirements. In addition to Alaska Powered Milk Drink, Gatorade returns as a partner this year and Spalding will once again act as the official supplier.  Jr. NBA official broadcast partners are Basketball TV, NBA Premium TV and Studio 23, with the Manila Bulletin serving as the official media print partner. Jr. NBA is also supported by the Basketball Coaches Association of the Philippines (BCAP). Provincial Host Cities include Puerto Princesa, Pampanga and Cagayan de Oro.

The Jr. NBA first visited the Philippines in early 2007 at 16 Metro Manila private and public schools.  The program expanded to 200 schools and 20,000 participants in 2008-09 and to 300 schools and 30,000 students in 2009-10.  In 2011, the program reached more than 400 schools and 40,000 students, parents, and coaches across the country. Each year a new city benefits from the grassroots basketball program that involves not just young players but also their parents and coaches.  The program remains free in all its stages for local coaches and young Filipino boys who want to join the program.  Registration is now ongoing through the Jr. NBA event website www.jrnba.com.ph. Fans can also follow us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/jrnbaphilippines and our official Twitter Feed at http://twitter.com/NBA_Philippines

Team Onii-chan Figure Display Crew Will Be at Otaku Expo 2012

After our grandest display event last month, you’d think that our team would be resting on its laurels now, but no. This January 21-22, Otakuzine will once again be holding Otaku Expo at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 1 and yup, you guessed it, we’re having another display for all of you. If you will remember, we also participated in the 2011 edition of the said event and in my opinion, that was one of the more memorable displays that we had so I’m very optimistic that this will be just as memorable. What to expect? Well, more figures of course. We’ll be showcasing some of the first figures that came out in 2012 so expect some new faces to be seen. For now, we don’t have much details regarding the event itself but on our part, we’ll be opening slots for volunteering of figures soon so stay tuned. What better way to celebrate the new year than with a new convention! We hope to see all of you at our event and hopefully you can once again visit our booth to see our gorgeous display.

THE DESCENDANTS: WINS MAJOR AWARDS IN 2012’S GOLDEN GLOBES

The Descendants,” this year’s Golden Globes winner for Best Picture (Drama) and Best Actor (George Clooney) is based on Kaui Hart Hemming’s novel set in Hawaii where outwardly successful businessman Matt King (Clooney) is thrown into crisis when his wife falls into a coma.
As King struggles to be a hands-on parent with his two daughters Scottie (Amara Miller) and Alexandra (Shailene Woodley) and eventually coming to terms with his wife’s deteriorating health, he soon discovers  a secret that has given him a new look in life. With his girls in tow, he steps forward to search for unturned stones his wife has left him with.   Along the way, in encounters alternately funny, troublesome and transcendent, he realizes he’s finally on course toward rebuilding his life and family.

The winning motion feature is presented by Fox Searchlight Pictures with Ad Hominem Enterprises production  directed by Alexander Payne which is also penned by Payne with Nat Faxon & Jim Rash. The ensemble cast includes George Clooney, Shailene Woodley, Beau Bridges, Robert Forster, Judy Greer, Matthew Lillard, Nick Krause, Amara Miller, Mary Birdsong, Rob Huebel and Patricia Hastie.

“The Descendants” is a story that could perhaps be told anywhere, but it has a completely unique setting among the landed upper-classes in Hawaii,” says Alexander Payne.  “It’s specific to this place, yet it is also universal. Hawaii is very interesting and not just for its obvious visual and vivid beauty; there’s a distinctive social fabric to life there and that intrigued me,”adds Payne.

The movie sees two masters, both Oscar winners, both at the pinnacle of their game. Funny but also reflective and poignant, this is Alexander Payne’s first film since “Sideways” (2004). And in one of the most interesting roles of his brilliant career, George Clooney plays Matt King, a conflicted and flawed man discovering his own humanity and responsibility in the wake of a tragedy.

In the depths of this crisis, King has to come to terms with the fact that he has been largely inadequate as a father as he attempts to repair his relationship with his two daughters.  17 year-old Alexandra is rebellious and has been sent off to boarding school.  10 year-old Scottie, played by first time actress Amara Miller, is precocious and in need of parental supervision.  Compounding Matt King’s grief, there is the added revelation that before her accident his wife had been involved with another man. “Matt is kind of lost, befuddled, disappointed—all the normal things people feel in life, realizing they’ve done the wrong things.” says Payne.

“The film is about the awakening of a man who has been in an indifferent marriage that has gone stale,” adds producer Jim Burke.  “It is a wonderful father and daughter story and something completely new for George Clooney. We have never seen him in a film about a relationship between a man and his children.”

“The Descendants” will open on February 15 in theaters from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

PENSHOPPE PRE-SUMMER 2012: Feel good fashion with a casual edge.

MPreSummer2012

Fresh from a stellar 25th anniversary year in which leading fashion brand PENSHOPPE showed every other local apparel group how a leveled up campaign should be, the label now continues its brand-repositioning process, with the goal of reinforcing its position as the top of the mind brand for years to come.

So what can we expect from PENSHOPPE this 2012? Traditional casual wear with clean nautical touches. Color blocking. Light fabrics that are easy to wear. “The latest campaign is more relaxed and approachable. Definitely feel good fashion with a casual edge,” shares Brand Director Alex Mendoza. “Trends to look forward to over the year are more vivid use of colors, clean silhouettes, acid wash jeans and our highly popular varsity jackets.”

Consequently, PENSHOPPE kicks off its Pre-Summer 2012 campaign with a modern take on cheerful wardrobe fundamentals such as jeans, shirts, jackets and other signature style as fronted by the brand’s strongest brand presenters: Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick, Asian superstar Mario Maurer and local “it” girl Solenn Heussaff.

CASUAL COOL: The New Kind of HOT

There are many reasons why a smart, sensible guy’s girlfriend would take one long look at Ed Westwick’s latest campaign for PENSHOPPE and run to the store – boyfriend in tow. After his surreal visit to Manila last year much to the amazement of fans and fashion observers alike, it seems apparent that to create a Chuck Bass out of every guy became every girl’s 2012 resolution.

To start off the new year Ed remains as PENSHOPPE’s biggest level up ammunition and for one very good reason: There is no one out there who can pull it off the way Ed can.

Simply put, there is no other Chuck Bass.

clip_image002

Starting the New Year with a SMILE

If Ed Westwick is considered by many as PENSHOPPE’s marketing ammo, then it is fair to say that Asian heartthrob Mario Maurer is the brand’s sales catalyst. Soon after the 23 year old was signed last August sporting the brand’s now famous varsity jacket, the item immediately went out of stock – early on proving that anything the kid touches turns into gold.

And that was just the beginning. Indeed, anything that Mario wears from his PENSHOPPE collection sells fast: jacket, jeans, shirt, shoes, you name it - even a cap. Proving his incredible cult-like following among teenagers as well as young adults, anything he models are likely to fire up fans to line up and buy across PENSHOPPE stores nationwide.

clip_image002[5]clip_image004

It’s HIP to be “IT”

Solenn Heussaff is not just a pretty face – she is a powerful female influencer. Prior to her entry into local showbiz, it was PENSHOPPE who discovered her years ago when she was just modeling. Since then, Solenn has fronted some of the brand’s most memorable campaigns.

SolennPreSummer2012

With more than 440,000 plus followers on Twitter to date, the French-Filipina has sure come a long way since first being discovered by PENSHOPPE. She also possesses a sophisticated personal style that makes her the perfect female lead for what is now considered the Philippines’ fashion powerhouse.

Stay to the middle of EDSA and drive all the way to Quezon City, passing through Ayala Tunnel, Cubao tunnel and flyovers of Ortigas and Santolan. After passing through tunnel of Cubao or Cubao underpass, you must avoid getting onto the Kamuning Flyover because this flyover passes through two intersections - Kamuning/Kamias and Timog. Your destination is Timog so you need to go under the flyover. Cross the intersection of Kamuning/Kamias. If you're confuse, Kamias is the opposite road of Kamuning. Kamias is to the righ of EDSA if you're coming from Makati. Kamuning is it's opposite road to your left if you're coming from Makati. Next intersection is for East Avenue to the right and opposite to it is Timog Avenue. Cross that intersection and make a U-Turn onto Timog Avenue . Turn right onto Timog Avenue where the GMA Network, Inc. (Channel 7) is located. Stay to the middle of Timog and drive all the way until you see up ahead the Boy Scout Circle, it's a rotonda or roundabout where Timog Avenue and Tomas Morato Avenue intersect. Stay to the left after you cross Scout Torillo Street, the last street before the Boy Scout Circle. Excess Super Club is located before the Boy Scout Circle, around 50-100 meters from the circle, to your left, opposite Rockville across Timog Avenue. There's a lot of parking space along Timog so all you need to do is make a U-Turn when you already see Excess Super Club.

The driving direction given above can also be taken by those drivers from Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasig and Pasay vicinity who'd like to get to Timog Avenue, GMA Network, Inc. (GMA-7), Imperial Palace Suites and of course Excess Super Club via EDSA.

Route #2

From north of Metro Manila, e.g. Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela - Take EDSA all the way to Scout Borromeo. Stay to the middle of EDSA, crossing the Congressional/Roosevelt intersection in Munoz and West Avenue where SM City North Edsa is located to your left. After West Avenue, you must pass through the Quezon Avenue Flyover. While you're on the flyover, stay to the right of the flyover. After passing through Quezon Avenue flyover, stay to your lane. The first street after your descent from the flyover is Eugenio Lopez. As soon as you passed by Eugenio Lopez Street, watch out for the broken white lines that gives direction for private vehicles from EDSA into the Scout Borromeo Street. Avoid MMDA apprehension, drive smart, follow traffic rules and regulations. Once you see the white broken lines running diagonally to the next street after Eugenio Lopez which is the Scout Borromeo, turn on signal lights, change your lane, follow the broken lines and turn right onto the Scout Borromeo Street. There's a Jollibee one block before Scout Borromeo. Drive on Scout Borromeo, cross Samar Avenue. Next intersection is Sgt. Esguerra Avenue. After Scout Borromeo crossed Sgt. Esguerra Avenue, it turns to the right and another road appears to the left of Scout Borromeo. This street is Scout Ybardolaza. Take this street. Cross the next street of Scout Madrinan and finally turn right onto Timog Avenue. Along Timog Avenue, cross Scout Torillo Street, the last street before you reach Boy Scout Circle which is at this point is already visible from the distance. Stay to the left. Excess Super Club is located before the Boy Scout Circle, around 50-100 meters from the circle, to your left, opposite Rockville across Timog Avenue. There's a lot of parking space along Timog so all you need to do is make a U-Turn when you already see Excess.

This driving direction can also be taken by those driving from Bulacan via NLEX and into EDSA, as well as from Quirino Avenue, Novaliches and nearby areas who are going to Timog Avenue, Tomas Morato Avenue, and of course Excess. Other destination here is the Imperial Palace Suites, located exactly in the corner of Tomas Morato Avenue and Timog Avenue, by the Boy Scout Circle. If you're going to GMA Network, Inc. or Channel 7, just pass by Scout Borromeo, stay to the right, avoid the Kamuning Flyover, until you see the GMA Network Headquarters. Don't turn right onto the street before Timog. This street is GMA Network Drive and it's one way street going to EDSA.

Route #3

If you're coming from Malate or Ermita area, take Taft Avenue, Roxas Boulevard or Mabini and get to Quiapo via Quezon Bridge and onto Quezon Boulevard and then take the Quezon Boulevard Underpass. While driving down the underpass, stay to the right and turn right onto Espana in the middle of the underpass. There's another slip lane or road that runs perpendicular from the middle of Quezon Boulevard underpass to the right, it's going to Espana. So it's important that you're staying to the right of Quezon Boulevard underpass as soon as you descend. Stay to the middle of Espana and drive all the way until you're traversing Quezon Avenue, passing by Welcome Rotonda. You'll cross the intersection of Quezon Avenue and Araneta Avenue. After that you'll pass by a huge Sogo Hotel located at the corner of Roces Avenue and Quezon Avenue to the right. You'll also pass by Capitol Medical Center which is located at Scout Magbanua Street. At this point you must stay to the right of Quezon Boulevard. Next street is Scout Reyes. After Scout Reyes is the Y junction of Timog Avenue. Turn right onto Y intersection of Timog Avenue. Stay to the middle until you get to the Boy Scout Circle. Go with the traffic flow, pass Tomas Morato and back to Timog again. After a while, Excess comes into view to your right, opposite Rockville to the left of Timog, around 50-100 meters from Boy Scout Circle or rotonda.

This driving direction can also be taken from T.M. Kalaw Street, Maria Orosa Street corner U.N. Avenue where Holiday Inn is located, Robinson's Place Ermita, Adriatico Street, Remedios Street, Padre Burgos Street and other nearby areas by driver's who'd like to get to Timog Avenue, Tomas Morato Avenue, Imperial Palace Suites and GMA Network, Inc. or GMA Channel-7. To get to GMA-7 just go straight ahead, passing by Excess along Timog Avenue up to GMA Network Drive. Turn left on GMA Network drive opposite 11th Jamboree Street to get to GMA Network Building.

How to get to Excess Super Club in Timog by jeepney

There are two routes of passenger jeepney that pass by Boy Scout Circle where Excess is located around 50-100 meters away. Boy Scout Circle is the rotonda or roundabout in a technical term where Tomas Morato Avenue and Timog Avenue intersect.

Route #1

The first route is from EDSA corner Kamuning Road. So you won't get lost wherever in Metro Manila you're coming from. Just ride a bus, but make sure the sign of the bus contains any of these words: "Fairview", "East Avenue", "SSS" and "Philcoa". You can always ask the conductor, anyway. Make sure you get off at Kamias or Kamuning. If you're confuse, Kamias is the opposite road of Kamuning. Kamias is to the righ of EDSA if you're coming from Makati. Kamuning is it's opposite road to your left if you're coming from Makati. Now, at the corner of EDSA and Kamuning or Kamias, a lot of passenger jeepneys going to Quiapo stop to pick up passengers. Do not ride these jeepneys. Wait for jeepneys with any of the following signs: "Welcome Rotonda", "Pantranco" and "Roces". Note: If you're commuting to Capitol Medical Center or Sogo Hotel from EDSA-Kamuning, then this is the jeepney route to take. Ride one of these jeepneys and ask driver to drop you off at Imperial Palace, that's the common reference known to driver. Don't say Rockville or Boy Scout Circle. Imperial Palace is the known landmark there. As soon as you get off, you'll see the huge building of Imperial Palace Suites. Go toward the direction of Imperial Palace Suites. On the side of Imperial Palace that occupies Timog Avenue, walk away from the Imperial Palace and the Boy Scout Circle. You'll see many bars and karaoke next to Imperial Palace. Next to Music bank is the Rockville. And opposite Rockville across Timog is the Excess Super Club.

This direction is the best route for commuters from Fairview, Commonwealth, Philcoa, Project 2-3 and those from other area who prefer bus instead of train in going to Timog Avenue, Tomas Morato Avenue, Imperial Palace, GMA Network, Inc. or GMA Channel-7 and Excess.

Route #2

The second route is from Welcome Rotonda. The sign of jeepneys that plies this route contains either "Proj. 2-3" or "Timog". Now, confusion might arise that will lead to wrong direction. That's because there are also jeepneys from Quiapo with the same sign, "Proj. 2-3", that pass by Welcome Rotonda. Do not ride any of these jeepneys. They take different route, via E. Rodrigues Avenue. You will get lost the moment you ride a Project 2-3 bound jeepney from Quiapo. What you do is go across E. Rodriguez where the Project 2-3 bound via Timog jeepney stop to pick up passengers. These jeepneys are the ones who pick up passengers in EDSA-Kamuning. They take Quezon Avenue from Welcome Rotonda and turn right onto Timog Avenue. So the key here is Quezon Avenue route and not E. Rodriguez. You'll will see many bars and karaoke next to Imperial Palace. Next to Music Bank is the Rockville. And opposite Rockville across Timog is the Excess.

This direction is the best route to take from Espana, Quiapo, UST, Dimasalang and other nearby areas.

How to get to Excess Super Club in Timog by MRT or LRT

You can get to Timog by MRT-3 and the station here is called GMA-Kamuning Station. After you get off the train in GMA-Kamuning Station, walk toward the corner of Timog Avenue and EDSA where the headquarters of GMA Network, Inc. or GMA Channel-7 is located. Wait for a jeepney along Timog Avenue. These jeepneys are bound for Cubao via Timog, but they turn left way too far from Excess. As soon as the jeepney you're riding turns left, get off and walk your way to the Boy Scout Circle or rotonda. You won't miss it as it's very visible from the distance. Excess is located before the Boy Scout Circle, around 50-100 meters from the circle, to your left, opposite Rockville.

If the nearest station to you is LRT-2, then ride a train there and get off at Araneta Center-Cubao Station and walk your way to MRT-3 Farmers Cubaao Station. MRT-3 and LRT-2 are linked together by a crossway that passes through Gateway Mall, Araneta Coliseum and Farmers Plaza. Ride a northbound train or North Station train and get off at GMA-Kamuning Station. Follow direction to Rockville given at the preceding paragraph.

These directions via MRT and LRT is the best route to take for commuters from San Juan, Santa Mesa, Pasig, Sampaloc, Legarda, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay, Baclaran, Paranaque, Marikina, Santolan, Project 4, Cubao and other nearby areas coming to Timog Avenue, Tomas Morato, GMA Network, Imperial Palace and of course Excess.
