Workshop - HTML5 + JS and Developing Windows 8 Metro Style Apps - Feb 25 (Saturday)


Globe Labs invites you to our upcoming HTML5 + JS and Developing Windows 8 Metro Style Apps Workshop on February 25, 2012, Saturday at Microsoft Training Center, 8th Floor, 6750 Ayala Avenue, Makati City.  The event is co-organized with Microsoft Philippines and it  will be the first-ever Windows 8 workshop in the Philippines.

The workshop will include HANDS-ON training on HTML5, Javascript, and how to developing apps using  HTML5 + JavaScript + Windows 8 Metro Style. The workshop will be conducted by Allan Mangune, MSP (CEO of Taughtworks Inc).

  • 8:30 am - Registration
  • 9:00 am - Introduction and What's new with HTML5, Javascript, and CSS3
  • 9:30 am - Anatomy of HTML5 Sites and Metro Style Apps using HTML5
  • 10:30 am - Reach your customers devices with one beautiful HTML5 User Interface
  • 11:00 am - Using Expression Blend to Design Metro Style Apps with HTML5
  • 11:30 am - Programming SVG and Canvas graphics in a Metro Style App Based on HTML5
  • 1:00 pm - Make great Metro style apps that are touch optimized using HTML5
  • 2:00 pm - HTML5 + JS & Windows 8 Metro Style App Hackathon
  • 4:00 pm - Presentation of Apps
  • 5:00 pm - Closing Remarks

Workshop desktop will be provided to the participants, with pre-installed tools for HTML5, JavaScript and Windows 8 (beta). A simple lunch and snacks will be provided during the workshop.

  1. I am exicited about HTML5 but Flash can do all these things html5 can do in a better way.Creating slideshow in HTML5! wow! what, flash did that 10 years ago! It is very easy to create a flash animation, for example a ball bouncing in flash professional in less than am minute. Javascript is a mess when compared to AS3.
